Well what a season it has been and Cambridge have finished on top and will host the first day of the finals. Incredible effort from the Knights who was hit the hardest during the off season to regroup and finish minor premiers. The Eagles jump into second spot and have earnt themselves the double chance to make the final on Sunday. The premiers will have to win 3 games straight to retain their flag with the Millers rounding out the 4. The new comers head straight back to white and Doubleview and Sorrento have to play off to hold on for next season. Lets go through the final weeks results
Cambridge 78 (6.5) vs Mount Lawley 75 (1.5)
(Blake Nairn 13 - Corey Bessant 21) (Cameron Harris 23 - Daniel Trewhella 15) (Clive Adams 21 - Ben Leggett 21) (Kevin Crowle 21 - Jack East 18)
This one looked to be a beauty but it was the Knights getting over the line and taking top spot on the ladder. They take on the Eagles next week in the double chance finals and will be looking to play for the big one on Sunday. Well done to the Blake Nairn and his team taking out top spot on the skippers ladder. The premiers will take on the Millers and now have to do it the hard way if they want to go back to back
Cockburn 104 (8) vs Leeming 65 (0)
(Jordan King 24 - Lionel Mundri 16) (Marc Abonnel 20 - Jim Newton 16) (Michael Simunovic 33 - Paul Hickey 15) (Tony Krajancic 27 - James Bowden 18)
Cockburn big winners here but have just fallen short by half a point of making the challenge game. They have been more than competitive this year but will be heading back to white. Leeming will be very happy the season is over and will be much more competitive back in white next season.
Manning 95 (7) vs Doubleview 77 (1)
(Glenn Pauling 30 - John Slavich 21) (Kristina Van Nierop 28 - Kyle McIlroy 16) (Scott Walker 12 - Bradley White 21) (Warren Holt 25 - Charles Slavich 19)
Manning head into the finals series after beating Doubleview by 18. Kristina Van Nierop finished off a tremendous first season getting over McIlroy by 12. The Eagles now head to Cambridge to take on the Knights in the double chance finals. It’s another disappointing season for the View and now have play the challenge game to hold on to their spot at Nth Beach.
Osborne Park 101 (6) vs South Perth 83 (2)
(Brad Gillingham 35 - Justin Opie 15) (Dale Marsland 21 - Paul Davies 26) (Ryan Brown 23 - Graeme Wishart 19) (Segan Pasalich 22 - Ross Bresland 23)
The Saints getting the win but have just fallen short of making the finals. Unbelievably they had the same amount of wins as the Knights and have missed out on finals. South Perth will be relieved getting the 2 rinks they needed and will take on the premiers in the finals.
Sorrento survive for a least another week just hanging on to 8th spot by half a point. They were too good for the Lions and now have to win next week at Nth Beach to retain their spot. Disaster second half again for the Lions but are safe for another year.
